What is a blog?

A blog is a discussion or an information page posted on the web. However some people would describe a blog as a diary, your own private thoughts put into one space. Or it could be to do with news and politics, football, fashion, gardening, the list is endless. In summation, there is a blog out there for everyone, and if there isn't..you can make one! At first, to be honest, I didn't like the idea of blogging, it didn't seem at all interesting and Im not one to take on new concepts especially when it involves computers. However even though I wouldn't integrate it into my own personal lifestyle , I can see why other people do. You can see when the blog has been updated , by who and you can click other links that are similar to what you have searched. Also, many blogs are now linked with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Even websites such as bbc sports have blogs . I found this video upload on youtube about this man talking about what blogs are and what blogging is. I think he sums up my ideas and he is very accurate with his imformation. I would say watch up to around 1 minute 20 for the best idea's.

Hey! My name is Kia George Galvin, welcome to my first blog post. I am genuinely not used to blogging as I am more familiar with sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I am 18 years old and currently in Swansea Metropolitan University in my first year of Educational Studies. I come from Barry, South Wales and I miss home very much. However this is a sacrifice i must make to get my degree and do something with my life! I have been looking forward to coming to University for a long time as i wanted to experience life as a student, i knew it would be a struggle as living on my own I knew i would not get used to as for the past 17 years of my life my parents did everything for me

. I knew i would have to sort out my own finances, do all my own washing up and cleaning. Cook for myself, but i wanted to be more independent. It was a challenge. Now im here I love it, I've made some great new friends and my Seminar group are brilliant people, we all get on well. Im also enjoying my course alot, although im not used to the assignments and the horrible hour upon hours of sitting in the lecture theater. But I've realized that if you read over your notes and do extra work outside of lectures and seminars , it helps. I've had a few good nights out in Swansea , and have blown alot of my loan whilst doing so, so now i know for next term to handle my money alot wiser and try not to go out all the time.To end, Im really looking forward to the next three years and what the entail, i cant wait to make more friends for life and see what the next chapter of my life unfolds!
